1984, Fred Shapiro, PCAM

Fred A. Shapiro, PCAM, owner of SBB Management Company has over thirty-four years of real estate experience in Dallas, Texas and has earned the PCAM designation from CAI.  As a leader in the community association industry, Mr. Shapiro is actively involved in CAI.  He previously served as president of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter of CAI, as chairman of the Southwest Region of the Council of Chapters, as Vice Chairman of the Managers Committee and as a member of the Chief Executive Officer of Management Companies (CEOMC) Committee.  Mr. Shapiro is a frequent speaker at both local and national CAI functions.

Mr. Shapiro was born in Dallas and graduated from Hillcrest High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona.  He has a twenty-five year-old daughter.  Mr. Shapiro is active in various civic organizations and currently serves on the Advisory Board of Directors of Children's Cancer Fund of Dallas, Inc.

1992, Judy Alspaugh, PCAM, CPA
Ms. Alspaugh is presently the Chief Financial Officer of Capital Consultants Management Corporation. Before being named CFO, she served as Regional Vice President for CCMC and was responsible for property management operations in first Houston and later Dallas. Before joining CCMC, Ms. Alspaugh was a partner in a property management firm and headed its property maintenance department. Her company was acquired by CCMC in 1981, at which time she joined the firm. 

Her career prior to 1981 spanned 13 years in the accounting and management field. Ms. Alspaugh received her accounting degree from the University of Miami (Florida) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ms. Alspaugh was awarded the prestigious Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation from the Community Association Institute (CAI) in 1991. Ms. Alspaugh's memberships include Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accounts. She served as a member of the CAI National Manager Designation Ethics Committee and in 1992 she served as President of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of CAI.

1994, Dean Riddle

DEAN A. RIDDLE is a member of the bars of Texas, Georgia and North Carolina.  He received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 and 1985.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.  He was chairman of the Homeowners' Rights Committee in 1994.  During 1990 - 1994 and 1998 - 2001, Mr. Riddle served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas-Fort Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI).  He served as its President in 1994.  He has written and lectured extensively on the topic of litigation for community associations at the state and national level.  As an active member of CAI, Mr. Riddle has served as a delegate to the Texas Legislative Action Committee from 1993 to the present and has actively participated in drafting proposed legislation affecting planned communities.  He has represented community associations in at least ten states and has handled well over a thousand association cases ranging from assessment collection to multi-million dollar construction defect cases.

1997, Donna Hugly, CPA
Donna Hugly, CPA served as President of the Dallas Ft. Worth chapter in 1997.  She has also been elected as vice president, secretary and treasurer as well as serving on and/or chairing numerous committees.

Ms. Hugly is the shareholder of Hugly and Company, P.C. a local CPA firm that provides consulting, tax, accounting and auditing services to small to medium size businesses including homeowner associations.
 
Ms. Hugly is active in her professional associations including serving as past chairman of the Dallas Chapter of CPAs and executive board member of the Texas Society of CPAs.

1999, Mark Southall, PCAM

Mr. Southall is President of the Principal Management Group of North Texas, which oversees the firm's operations through the North Texas region. 

Mr. Southall holds the professional designations of Certified Property Manager (CPM) awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management, Accredited Management Specialist (AMS) and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), the highest professional designation awarded by the Community Associations Institute, and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) awarded by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM).  A Certified Occupancy Specialist, Mr. Southall has also established himself as an expert in the field of assisted living.  Mr. Southall is also a Past President of the DFW Chapter of CAI.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Southall's background includes positions in banking, where he served for six years as the Senior Vice President of a prominent area bank.  A native Dallasite and lifelong Texan, Mr. Southall and his family live in Rockwall.

2004, 2005, and 2006, Debbie Yeats

Ms. Yeats began her career in the paint industry in 1983 with The Glidden Paint Company, now known as ICI Dulux Paints.  Ms. Yeats positioned herself in the area of sales and in one year was able to facilitate a target market with a 92% increase in paint distribution.  She developed exterior color schemes and continued her education in the field of construction and with warranty and walk through inspections.

In 1996, she formed her own company, "Colors of the Rockies Painting" in Denver, Colorado.

Ms. Yeats coordinated all levels of communication and supervision with the Manager, Owner or the project General Contractor. She utilized the knowledge and hands on application of architectural drawings, specification, substrate preparation, paint application, odor removal, restoration of fire and water damage, suicide and sewage clean-up.

A relocation in 2001 brought Ms. Yeats back home to Texas and resulted in the formation of "Color Innovations Painting, LLC" where much of the same work continues.

2008 - Karen Boyd, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Karen Boyd is a Regional Vice President for the Plano Region for RTI/Community Management Associates, Inc. ("CMA"). Karen serves on the Executive Committee for CMA which sets policies, procedures and standards of operation for the company. As part of her current position, Karen supervises eight portfolio managers and five on-site managers with a total of 45 properties. Karen has been at CMA since 1997. Karen has served on the CAI Directory Committee for three years and was Chairperson for two of those years. Karen received her PCAM Designation in October 2004. Karen previously worked for a savings and loan which foreclosed on a number of master planned communities. Part of her job as an Asset Manager was to represent the savings and loan on the boards for the six master planned communities that she managed. Karen will tell you that Judi Phares, President of CMA, taught her how to be a Board Member. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

2009 - Ron Stephens, CMCA, AMS, PCAM


Ron Stephens was named CCMC vice president in 2006 and currently provides executive guidance for communities in Texas and northwest Florida. Starting as a maintenance director in 1989, Ron has been a valuable part of the CCMC team. Since that time, he has served in a number of operational leadership roles, including director of maintenance and community manager for Hackberry Creek in Irving, Texas. Ron holds a bachelors degree in business administration from Trinity University. He is active in the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of Community Associations Institute (CAI) and served as chapter president in 2009. Since 2005, he has served on the chapter's board of directors. Ron is also on the advisory committee for the Texas Community Association Advocates (TCAA). Ron is recognized as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) by the National Board of Certification of Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). He has also been awarded both the Association Management Specialist (AMS) and prestigious Professional Community Associations Manager (PCAM) designation from CAI, and is a licensed Florida Community Association Manager.

2010 - Laurie Knight-Tinsley, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Laurie Knight-Tinsley is President/CEO of Classic Property Management and Classic Real Estate Services in Arlington, Texas. Laurie has earned her Association Management Specialist (AMS) and the highest professional designation of Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). She has also received her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) from the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. In addition to her professional designations from CAI, Laurie has also earned the Master Property Manager (MPM) designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). As a Realtor, Laurie is a member of the Arlington Board of Realtors. Other professional memberships include the Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter of NARPM, Apartment Association of Greater Dallas and Apartment Association of Tarrant County. She has an extensive history of service on boards, committees, etc. In the DFW Chapter, Laurie has served on the Programming and Social Committees.

2011 - Rick Tuzinski

Rodrick (Rick) Tuzinski is a part owner and Sales and Marketing Manager for Pavecon. Rick has been with the company since January 2000. Rick began his career serving two tours of duty in the U.S. Army, primarily stationed in Germany. In 1988, Rick received his accreditation as an Engineering Technician from Arizona State University and began his career in the construction industry. Rick has worked in sales, management, quality control, and inspections. Rick has been very active in the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, the Apartment Association of Tarrant County, BOMA, ACI, and CAI, as well as construction related associations. Rick has served on several committees as well as the PSC Council.Rick is an endurance athlete, participating in several triathalons over the years, including the Hawaiian Ironman in 1997 and trail runs in excess of marathon distances such as the 50 miler Sunmart held in Huntsville. His most recent achievement was to complete 96 miles of a 100 mile run in Vermont in July of 1999. For the last three years, he has coached girl's soccer. Rick's other passion is hovercrafting.  Rick has two older sons, and a young daughter with his wife, Cathy
